Get a copy of your certificate

How to apply for a duplicate certificate or an endorsed/certified copy of your certificate.

All University of Bath original certificates will have the FHEQ table shown on the back. All University of Bath duplicate certificates will specify "duplicate" on the back and will not show the FHEQ table.

How to get an endorsed or certified copy of your certificate

If you require an endorsed or certified copy of your certificate you will need to:

  • send us a copy of your certificate by email

  • include a scanned copy of your photo ID (e.g. a driving licence or passport)

  • confirm the email address that we should send the endorsed or certified copy to

We will then verify the details on your certificate and email the endorsed or certified copy to the email address that you've provided.

How to get a duplicate certificate

The University will only produce a duplicate certificate if the original has been lost or stolen, or destroyed. There is currently no charge for this service but there is a limit of one duplicate per award.

We do not currently provide digital certificates.

To comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 we will need a signed letter to confirm what has happened to the original and to request a duplicate. The letter can be scanned and emailed (using the 'Email us' link below), and it must contain the following:

  • Your full name (and your name when you graduated if it has since changed)
  • Your date of birth
  • The course you graduated from
  • The year you graduated
  • The full address you would like the duplicate sent to
  • A contact phone number and email address (this will be passed to the couriers if being sent internationally)
  • A handwritten signature (the letter can be hand signed and scanned)
  • A scanned copy of your photo ID (for example, a driving licence or passport)

If you do not provide all the required information set out above, there may be a delay in printing or sending your certificate.

Certificates are printed once a month, except in December due to the University closure for Christmas. The monthly deadlines for receiving requests are set out below. The deadline is midday (UK time) on the stated date:

  • 23 August 2024
  • 27 September 2024
  • 25 October 2024
  • 22 November 2024
  • 24 January 2025
  • 21 February 2025
  • 28 March 2025
  • 25 April 2025
  • 23 May 2025
  • 27 June 2025
  • 25 July 2025

Certificates will be posted approximately 14 calendar days after the deadline. Postage dates may vary due to circumstances beyond our control.

Certificates are not printed outside of these dates.
