My Employability Profile is accessible through Unihub, bridging the gap between MyFuture and MySkills to help you develop skills that enhance your employability
How to access My Employability Profile
My Employability Profile is launching in September 2025. You'll be able to find it by going to Unihub, which is where you also access MyFuture and MySkills.
Who can use My Employability Profile
My Employability Profile is open to all current students at the university. It can - and should - be used by everyone. It doesn't matter what course you're on, what year of study you're in, or whether you're learning on campus or remotely. The tool is built to be relevant and usable to everyone.
Whether you have a very clear idea about what your career path, or you're still considering all of your options, My Employability Profile will help you build a portfolio of skills that employers value.
How My Employability Profile works
My Employability Profile is based on a Capabilities Framework. This is 13 capabilities that we know employers value in their graduates:
- Adaptability
- Collaboration
- Communication
- Creativity and innovation
- Critical thinking
- Data literacy
- Digital and AI literacy
- Drive and initiative
- Leadership
- Professionalism
- Resilience
- Social and cultural awareness
- Sustainability
Don't worry if you're not sure what all of these mean; to help you, we've added definitions and created short videos that explain what these capabilities are, and how to use them.
Within My Employability Profile, you can explore the capabilities to identify what to focus on and then choose the right activities for you to build your skills. You can then attend workshops, explore opportunities, access resources and reflect on your progress to boost your employability.
Every time you attend an event relating to one of the capabilities, you will progress from 'Getting started' to 'Intermediate' and then 'Expert'.
You can add all sorts of experiences to your profile. This might include online courses you've completed (such as LinkedIn Learning), work experience, volunteering, or work as a student leader or SU society member. Anything you've done whilst a student at Bath can be added here. All actions count towards your profile - you can log all of these as 'experiences' and move the dial on your profile.
How it links to the Bath Award
The Bath Award is another new employability initiative launching in 2025. Like My Employability Profile, the Bath Award uses the Capabilities Framework to help you develop key employability skills that we know employers value the most.
Some of the 'experiences' you complete through My Employability Profile will be Bath Award endorsed, and will count towards the professional development aspect of your Award. However, there is no requirement that you sign up for (or complete) the Bath Award to be able to use My Employability Profile; they are completely separate, and you can use My Employability Profile without engaging with the Bath Award.
Sharing your profile with employers
My Employability Profile is not a competition or an award. It's a tool for you to track your development and progress against the 13 capabilities we know employers value. You are able to view a Skills Summary, and download or print this to share with employers to support a job application. You own this summary and it will automatically update as you add new 'experiences' to your profile.
We're not able to quality assure or review your experiences; if you would like a certificate that endorses your skill development and learning, we recommend that you complete the Bath Award.
