University scholarships
Undergraduate
The University has confirmed £500,000 funding for undergraduate scholarships for new students starting in the 2022/23 academic year.
This is based on approved 2021 University funding schemes, including:
- International Foundation Year Scholarship
- Chancellor's Scholarship
- International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship
Additional scholarships may be available for 2022/23 entry, however, this is subject to approval at the Finance Committee meeting in June 2022.
Scholarships are applied as a tuition fee waiver.

Taught postgraduate
The University has confirmed £1.3 million funding for taught postgraduate scholarships for new students starting in the 2022/23 academic year (this includes courses with multiple entry points).
This is based on approved 2021 University funding schemes, including:
- Deans Award for Academic Excellence
- Global Leaders Scholarship
- School of Management MSc Scholarship
- MBA & EMBA Scholarships
- MA International Higher Education Management Scholarship (also available for continuing students)
- Interpreting and Translating Scholarship
- Economics for Business Intelligence and Systems Scholarship
- Euromasters Scholarship
Additional scholarships may be available for 2022/23 entry, however, this is subject to approval at the Finance Committee meeting in June 2022.

Access and participation agreement funding
Undergraduate and taught postgraduate
Bursaries and funding are part of our Access and Participation Plan 2020-21 to 2024-25. It sets out how we intend to enhance access, student success, and progression for underrepresented and disadvantaged groups.
£3.9 million is available to new and existing students who are eligible for funding schemes across undergraduate and taught postgraduate studies. These include:
- Bath Bursary
- Gold Scholarship
- Unpaid Placement Bursary
- Accommodation Bursary
- PGT Bursary
- Meri Williams Scholarship
- Santander Widening Participation
- additional support and funding for care leavers
- foyer residents and estranged students
- students with caring responsibilities
- financial support for refugees
Discretionary financial support as part of the plan has not been included in this final amount.
The amount of funding awarded is dependent on the eligibility of our students.
Approved 2021 budget funds have been used to calculate the total figures and may change for the 2022 entry year.
Some schemes included within the Access and Participation Plan are co-funded or externally funded awards. These include the Gold Scholarships and Santander Widening Participation award.

Externally funded, co-funded, and donor-funded scholarships
Undergraduate
£170,000 is allocated to undergraduate awards funded by alumni donors, external partners, and organisations. This includes funding that is co-funded between a partner or organisation, alumni, and the University.
Funding schemes are confirmed for new students starting in the 2022/23 academic year (this includes courses with multiple entry points).
The £170,000 available includes:
- Sport scholarships
- Winning Women in Technology: JP Morgan Scholarships
- AB InBev Scholarship
- Arts scholarships
- RW Barnes Bursary
- Shane Francis Aherne Award
- Mercer Award

Taught postgraduate
£350,000 is allocated to taught postgraduate awards funded by alumni donors, external partners, and organisations. This includes funding that is co-funded between a partner or organisation, alumni, and the University, such as the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme.
Funding schemes are confirmed for new students starting in the 2022/23 academic year (this includes courses with multiple entry points).
The £350,000 available includes:
- Sir Jack Cater Scholarship
- Frank Wallace Scholarship
- GREAT Scholarships
- Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme
- Artificial Intelligence Scholarships
- Sanctuary Scholarship
