School Governor Network

A community of practice for staff and students who are school governors or trustees.

Project status

In progress

Duration

Open-ended

The University recognises that those volunteering as school governors are dedicating time, skills, and expertise to improve schools and outcomes for children. This has a positive effect for the University by connecting us with schools, helping to develop our pool of future students and giving staff and students opportunities to develop skills and knowledge. The School Governor Network is a community of practice to support those taking on these crucial roles.

The School Governor network connects members of the University who have taken on the role of a school governor, are interested in becoming a school governor, or have any other interest in school governance. The network aims to foster a community where members can ask questions, share experiences and overcome challenges of the role.

The School Governor Network is hosted in a Teams group, which anyone in the University can request to join by filling in this form. This is a forum to share knowledge, resources, and questions.

We also hold bi-monthly meetings (online) to allow members to meet, network, and share experiences.
