Palakh Khanna and Craig Bennett are one of 30 pairs of youth climate leaders and climate experts from across the world matched for 1-2-1 conversations as part of this year’s ActNowFilm.

ActNowFilm: youth climate leaders in conversation with climate experts is an international youth voices in climate change project, selected to showcase at COP28. The film is based on 1-2-1 conversations between 30 pairs of youth climate leaders and world leading climate experts.

Palakh Khanna is a 20-year-old social entrepreneur, mentor, teacher and youth changemaker from India. Palakh is a passionate environmentalist and works to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through different initiatives.

She is the founder and CEO of Break.The.Ice, an international youth organisation working towards breaking taboos and stigmas in society, which has reached over 25,000 individuals in 10+ countries and including over 20+ partners.

Palakh has received numerous recognitions for her work, including being listed as one of BW Wellbeing’s 30 Under 30, Asia's 100 Women Power Leaders (Rising Leader) 2023 and among Unstop’s Top 75 Education and Career Influencers 2023. She is also a World Record Holder.

Amongst many other activities and achievements, Palakh has previously served as former Regional Officer for Asia Pacific (under the SDG Student Program by SDSN Youth) and Harvard Innovation Fellow. She was also the youngest mentor and coach for the Business Blasters program, an initiative of the Delhi government.

Palakh is a top communicator on LinkedIn and has been featured in The Times Square, US Times Now, The Hindu and Global Indian, amongst others. She has given over 25+ talks across universities and institutes.

Craig Bennett is Chief Excecutive of The Wildlife Trusts in the UK. He has been described as “one of the country’s top environmental campaigners”, by The Guardian as “the very model of a modern eco-general” and, in 2021, was included in The Sunday Times Green Power List of the UK’s top 20 environmentalists. Craig was formerly CEO of Friends of the Earth where he led the organisation to numerous campaign victories including on bees, fracking and against the expansion of Heathrow Airport. Earlier in his career, Craig was Deputy Director at The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), and Director of The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change (from 2007 to 2010).

Craig has twenty years’ experience of designing and contributing to executive education and leadership programmes at numerous universities and business schools including the Judge Business School, London Business School, and Duke CE.

He is Honorary Professor of Sustainability and Innovation at Alliance Manchester Business School, an Associate Fellow of Homerton College (Cambridge), a Senior Associate of The Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and a Policy Fellow of The Centre for Science and Policy at The University of Cambridge.
