Eva Papanikolaki and Albert Altarejos Magalang are one of 30 pairs of youth climate leaders and climate experts from across the world matched for 1-2-1 conversations as part of this year’s ActNowFilm.

ActNowFilm: youth climate leaders in conversation with climate experts is an international youth voices in climate change project, selected to showcase at COP28. The film is based on 1-2-1 conversations between 30 pairs of youth climate leaders and world leading climate experts.

Eva Papanikolaki is an activist, co-coordinator of Fridays for Future Greece, and a passionate advocate for climate education. She actively engages with Fridays for Future Climate Education International, representing these groups at international conferences such as the UN Transforming Education Summit, UNESCO Higher Education Conference, and Stockholm+50 youth assembly. At the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), Eva has taken the role of coordinating the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Hub. She is actively involved in academic pursuits, serving as an assistant researcher at the AUEB ReSEES Lab and contributing to the ARSINOE project at the Greek Institute for European Affairs. Recognising the importance of youth engagement, Eva was involved in organising the Local Conference of Youth and the Youth Delegation Programme in Greece. She also currently leads the policy working group of the Climate Education Coalition.

Albert Altarejos Magalang is the Chief of the Climate Change Service of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of the Philippines and concurrently the Head Secretariat of the Philippine Designated National Authority (DNA) for the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) under the Kyoto Protocol to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). He is the DENR’s regular representative to the Philippine delegation of country negotiators in the UNFCCC climate change talks and the national representative in the ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change and in the UN Environment Assembly. He is the national focal point for Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE) and has served as a facilitator for ACE negotiations at the sessions of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Body on Implementation (SBI).
