National policy networks

National policy networks exist to offer learning opportunities and routes to build your policy networks.

National policy networks

The University is a member of various national policy engagement networks which can offer learning opportunities and routes to build your policy networks.

These include:

  • The UK Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN): A community of UK universities committed to increasing the impact of research on policy. UPEN organises knowledge-exchange events with government, parliament, devolved bodies and identifies mechanisms to take forward specific projects.
  • UK Universities Network on Climate change (UUCN): A group of over 85 universities and research centres working together to promote a zero carbon, resilient future. The network enables collaboration within the UK academic sector to advance climate action nationally and internationally.
  • The Foundation for Science and Technology (FST): A charity which provides an impartial platform for debate of policy issues that have a science, research, technology, and innovation element.
  • Capabilities in Academic Policy Engagement (CAPE): A knowledge exchange and research project that explores how to support effective and sustained engagement between academics and policy professionals across the higher education sector.
