Terms and conditions

Bath Alumni Online is provided free of charge to alumni. All users will be verified during registration before being granted full access to the site. The University of Bath reserves the right to refuse access to anyone who misuses the site in any way and to delete inappropriate updates to individual profiles. Bath Alumni Online includes searchable alumni directories. Apart from your name at graduation, year of graduation and department, you will be able to choose how much information is made public to other alumni on the 'Update your profile' page.

Data protection

All personal data is collected and stored in line with the Data Protection Act 1998. By registering with Bath Alumni Online you agree to the University contacting you about new developments, information about alumni activities, programmes involving central and academic University departments, fundraising programmes, and for the promotion of benefits and services including affinity products. The data will only be disclosed to external organisations if they are acting as agents for the University, for example mailing houses for the mailing of alumni publications, or if they are a statutory organisation, for example HESA (Higher Education Statistical Agency) or its agents. Where other alumni have chosen to make their contact details available please treat this information with respect and do not disclose it to a third party. Anyone found to be contacting alumni for purposes other than friendship and/or networking within the alumni community, for example spam, junk mail, or soliciting employment or business, will be removed from the site and their access terminated. Information you have chosen to give about salary and income will be used only for generic statistical and ranking purposes and is important in helping raise the profile of your degree. Please be assured that your name will not be divulged or published in conjunction with this data.
