Resources for University of Bath staff

The Department of Development & Alumni Relations (DDAR) connects the University with its graduate community. We work with alumni to:

  • Create and maintain social and professional networks;
  • Develop new opportunities for alumni and current students, through mentoring, placements and scholarships;
  • Keep alumni up to date with University achievements and activities in research, sport and campus life.

Find out more about how we can help you connect with this community.

Contacting our alumni

We are in regular communication with around 80 per cent of the University's graduates. If you would like to get in touch, we can help you:

  • look for an individual graduate you may have lost touch with;
  • find out whether we have alumni working in a certain field or for a certain company;
  • contact a select group of graduates for surveys or feedback, including Degree Scheme Reviews;
  • find placements for current students;
  • and publicise new programmes or CPD courses.

For more information, take a look at our FAQs and get in touch by emailing alumni@bath.ac.uk.

Running events with alumni

We have helped several academic departments run events with alumni in the past. We used a Department of Economics event  to successfully launch a professional network and we invited alumni contacts to celebrate the Department of Computer Science's 10 year anniversary. If you would like to run an event for alumni, or invite alumni to an event, we may be able to contribute towards costs and can assist with identfying contacts, sending mass invitations and event administration. See our advice on running events for alumni for more information.

Funding for special projects

Thousands of alumni donate to the University, and their gifts, large and small, make many projects around the University possible. For more information on seeking funding for special projects, DDAR faculty contacts are as follows:

You can also apply to the University's Alumni Fund. This Fund exists to support special projects that represent the best interests of students and staff of the University. The criteria for applications have changed recently and the scope of projects that are now eligible to receive funding has been broadened. Find out more about the Alumni Fund Grant criteria and how to apply.

See how alumni donations have made a difference across campus in the Donor Report 2011-12.

Our international alumni

Around 25 per cent of our alumni live overseas, and many meet regularly as part of an International Alumni Chapter - find out where we have alumni groups abroad. If you are travelling overseas on University business, we can put you in touch with local alumni who can assist at fairs or other events. It is also a great opportunity for alumni, who may be many miles from their alma mater, to hear news and updates from a University representative. Please get in touch for more information.
