Moving into campus accommodation for the first time
What you need to do before you leave home, when to arrive on campus, where to park and what to do once you're here.
Getting ready to come to University
Confirm your arrival time
Lots of new students will move into University accommodation on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September 2017. As a result, the campus will be very busy over that weekend.
To make moving in easier, we'll allocate you a scheduled time to arrive on campus and send this to the email address you gave when you applied for accommodation. If you haven't received the email by mid-September, contact the Student Accommodation team.
When you have your arrival time, confirm it and print your parking permit. This will allow you to park your car for two hours while you unpack your things.
Your library card
Your library card is your official proof of ID on campus. You can use it to get into buildings and buy food and drink at the University.
Before you leave home, you should upload a photo of yourself for your library card. We will then be able to create your card so it's ready for you to use when you get here.
This is especially important if you are in catered or part-catered accommodation. You will not be able to use your Eat and Drink Credit until you have a photo on your library card.
What to bring, what not to bring
If you are coming from overseas, you can send your belongings to the University for collection when you arrive.
If you are a student living in University-managed accommodation, you will automatically be enrolled in a contents insurance policy that covers your personal belongings.
Planning your journey
Bath is a small and busy city with two universities. The roads around town and the campus will be busy over arrivals weekend, so allow time for delays. Contact the Student Accommodation team if you're going to miss your scheduled arrival time.
The name of the car park you must use will be on your parking permit. If you're using sat nav, make sure you use the correct postcode so you are directed to the right entrance.
East Car Park
Use postcode BA2 7PA (GPS coordinates: Latitude 51.3794 Longitude -2.3231)
West Car Park
