Moving into campus accommodation for the first time
What you need to do before you leave home, when to arrive on campus, where to park and what to do once you're here.
Getting ready to come to University
Confirm your arrival time
There will be lots of new students moving into University accommodation on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September 2016. As a result, the campus will be very busy over that weekend.
To make the process of moving in easier, we will give you a time that you should arrive on campus. Look out for an email from us containing your scheduled arrival time. We will send this to the personal email address you gave us when you applied for accommodation. If you haven't got the email by mid-September, contact the Student Accommodation team.
When you have your arrival time, confirm your time and print your parking permit. This will allow you to park your car for two hours while you unpack your things.
Your library card
Before you leave home, you should upload a photo of yourself for your library card. This will allow us to create your card so it's ready for you to use when you get here.
This is especially important for those of you in catered or part-catered accommodation. You will not be to use your Eat and Drink Credit until you have a photo on your Library card.
Your library card is your official proof of ID on campus. You can also use it to get into buildings and buy food and drink on campus.
What to bring, what not to bring
If you are coming from overseas, you can send your belongings to University for collection when you arrive.
Planning your journey
Bath is a small, busy city with two universities. The roads around town and the campus will be busy over arrivals weekend, so allow time for delays. Contact the Student Accommodation team if you're going to miss your scheduled arrival time.
If you're using a sat nav, make sure you use the postcode for the correct entrance, east or west, depending on your allocated car park. The name of the car park will be on your parking permit.
East Car Park
Use the postcode BA2 7AY (GPS co-ordinates: Latitude 51.3794 Longitude -2.3231)
West Car Park
Use the postcode BA2 7AZ (GPS co-ordinates: Latitude 51.37972 Longitude -2.33290)
