Flexible and Distance Learning

If you are a working professional and want to learn new skills or improve your career prospects, then our flexible and distance learning programmes will appeal to you.

You can study a full Masters/Doctorate programme or single Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units, allowing you to combine study and work commitments without the need for a career break.

Masters and Doctorate programmes

CPD units

Many of our CPD units can contribute towards a professional qualification. Further information can be found on the CPD site, or relevant departmental sites.

Studying by flexible or distance learning

Our programmes take a blended approach, enabling you to study in your preferred learning style and at your own pace. Depending on your programme, you can study through any of the following:

  • Online learning through the Virtual Learning Environment
  • On-campus study sessions through intensive block teaching either at the University of Bath campus or an International Study Centre
  • Alongside other distance learners or full-time students

Support

Flexible and distance learning students, as registered students of the University, benefit from full access to all campus facilities.

If you are learning remotely, you will also benefit from support designed for distance learning students.
