Fees and Scholarships

Tuition fees 2016-17:

Full-time MBA £33,000

Self-funded candidates can be considered for School of Management scholarships on the strength of their completed ‘Scholarship Application Form’ along with supporting documentation when required. Externally supported scholarships may have their own requirements. Tuition fees on the Bath MBA include all essential text books, case material and required journal extracts. Applications for funding are considered in the order received and decisions are made promptly to enable candidates to plan for their study.

Executive/Part-time MBA £33,000

Tuition fees on the Bath MBA include £1000 reservation fee and all essential text books, case material and required journal extracts.

A range of generous scholarships are available to enable excellent scholars from every sector and corner of the globe to access a Bath MBA.

Dean’s MBA scholarship for excellence £14,000

Open to candidates demonstrating exceptional academic performance. A GMAT score may be required as evidence.

Third sector scholarship £11,000

Open to candidates from a third sector organisation who have a significant track record of contribution to the third sector in addition to MBA entry criteria.

Women in business MBA scholarship £8,000

Open to female candidates of merit; linked to the unique potential contribution of the candidate for the cohort.

Aquae Sulis MBA scholarship£4,500 - £9,000

Eligibility is linked to the unique potential contribution of the candidate for the cohort.

The Bath MBA has smaller cohort sizes than other Management courses. We do this to deliberately cultivate diversity. One recent cohort included representatives of 26 nationalities from every kind of organisation from high tech to third sector, as well as every functional specialism.

This approach generates a high quality learning experience both in terms of access to professors and learning from a wide variety of cultural and business backgrounds.

Externally sponsored MBA scholarships

Chevening £33,000 including top up from Bath

On confirmation of a Chevening Scholarship being awarded, the Bath MBA will offer a top-up award to cover the remaining balance of tuition fees. For more information see the Chevening website external website

Moog £8,000

Open to applicants who have accepted the offer of a place on the Full-time Bath MBA and paid their reservation fee. Qualifying applicants will be invited in July/August to complete the application form and submit an essay in response to a selection filter. A decision will be made in September. The successful applicant may also be invited to work with Moog Inc. during their final project.

If you have graduated with a full degree from a previous and separate programme at the University of Bath, you may be eligible for a discount of 10% on any part of your fees for which you are personally responsible. For information see the University's alumni discount page.

Instalment plans

Self-funding students wishing to pay by direct debit may pay in two equal instalments; the first at the start of semester one in October with the second payment due the following February, at the start of semester two.

  • Where scholarships are applied cumulatively, discounts and bursaries will be applied last and separately on the remaining balance

  • The maximum cumulative amount awarded by the University will not exceed the value of the course fee

Payment of the full remaining fee must be received by the first day of the month preceding enrolment.

Instalment plans

‘Pay as you go’ instalment plans

This scheme is structured around payment of the initial reservation fee which counts towards your first module, followed by invoices per module and an invoice for the final project.

£2,000 per 5 day unit
£1,000 per 2.5 day unit
£4,000 for the final project

Other Sources of funding for my Bath MBA

There are many sources of funding available in different countries. Examples include but are not limited to:

UK students

Postgraduate loans of up to £10,000 will be available to UK MBA students in 2016/17. EU nationals may also be eligible. More information is available on the University's study site and the Government's website external website.

Career Development Loans (CDL) are available through several high street banks.

Canadian Students

Citizens of Canada can apply for a a Canadian Centennial Scholarship ranging from £1,000 to £5,000.

Latin American Students

Colfuturo

Citizens of Colombia may be able to access the Colfutura loan which provides $25,000 of funding.

MOD – Enhanced Learning Credits

British armed forces personnel may elect to utilise Enhanced Learning Credits to cover part of their MBA fees. The Bath MBA is registered under the ELC scheme.

Salary Sacrifice Scheme

In the UK, salary sacrifice is a contractual arrangement whereby an employee gives up the right to receive part of their cash remuneration, usually in return for their employer’s agreement to provide some form of non-cash benefit. This means that the amount paid towards tuition fees would be free of tax and national insurance. It is possible that a new employee contract will need to be produced.
