*Figures shown are per academic year for full-time study. Part-time study is possible. However, part-time applicants are responsible for managing their time in order to be able to take all the formal taught and other training and research components, and for ensuring they actively participate in the research life of the School. No exceptions or waivers for formal taught and other training and research components are possible for part-time candidates who have time commitments elsewhere.


The School and University fund a number of students every year through various bursaries and studentships of varying value. Please see links below for further information.

ESRC SWDTC Industrial Strategy Studentships

Full Award (each year) provides:

  • Home/EU fee waiver £4,400
  • Stipend of approximately £14,300 for living expenses
  • Training Support Fee of £7,500


Fees-only Award (each year) provides up to 100% Home/EU fee waiver
