Welcome to the Department of Mathematical Sciences
Staff and students in the Department are committed to high-quality research, teaching and learning. We are listed 4th among universities in the UK in the Complete University Guide mathematics subject table.
In the 2008 RAE, 60% of our research in Pure Mathematics and Statistics and 70% of our research in Applied Mathematics was rated Internationally Leading or Excellent, placing us well within the top 10 departments in the UK.
MASH is the institutional mathematics resources centre which can offer help with maths and stats problems for all students at the University of Bath.
MSc Programmes in Applied Mathematics:
The MSc Industrial Mathematics and MSc Mathematical Biology are year long taught programmes offering training in mathematics, biology, mathematical biology and other applications of mathematics in engineering, industry and the sciences. These programmes are suitable for interested students with a 2.1 or better degree in a subject with a strong mathematical content.
