The annual One Young World Summit is attended by the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGOs, universities and other forward-thinking organisations as well as world leaders. Speakers have included Kofi Annan, Ariana Huffington, Emma Watson, Justin Trudeau, Mary Robinson, Rio Ferdinand, Sir Bob Geldof, Christiana Figueres, Jane Goodall, Muhammad Yunus, and Rosario Dawson.

Apply to become a delegate
A total of four University of Bath delegates will be funded to attend the Montreal summit, one funded by each of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences; the Faculty of Engineering and Design; the Faculty of Science and the School of Management.
One Young World Montreal takes place 18 - 21 September 2024.
The Plenary Challenges to be discussed at the Montreal summit are:
- Indigenous Voices
- The Climate and Ecological Crisis
- Artificial Intelligence
- Health Inequality
- Peace
University of Bath delegates will need to be a current student during 2024/25. Students on placement and undertaking PhDs, are eligible to apply. However, if you are selected as a delegate, you must ensure you have permission to attend from your employer, supervisor, or your Director of Studies.
The four delegates chosen to represent each Faculty/School at OYW Montreal will also be required to lead the Student Organising Committee for the One Young World Bath Forum in March 2025. One delegate will be assigned to lead the Planning team, one to lead the Relationships team, and two to lead the Marketing team.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 14 April 2024. In your application you will need to:
- explain how you would benefit from attending
- tell us if you’ve got a project or idea you’d like to develop on your return
You must also agree to the competition terms and conditions.
If you get shortlisted for the delegate places, you will be invited for interview to review your motivations and eligibility. This is expected to take place w/c 22 April. Online interviews can be arranged if you are on a placement or study year abroad.
