After you receive an offer to study one of our undergraduate courses in politics or modern languages, we'll email you to invite you to an Applicant Visit Day (AVD).

We usually run AVDs between February and May. You'll be able to choose from a selection of available dates, but it's best to book early to make sure you get a place as they can fill up quickly.
As part of your invitation, you'll receive information about travel, campus accessibility, and where to go when you get here.

AVDs include an introductory talk from one of our academics. They'll tell you more about how our courses are structured and assessed, and the topics you'll study.

You'll also be able to talk to staff from our Department and student ambassadors, who will be happy to answer any questions you have about studying at Bath.
Throughout the AVD, you can speak to students studying our politics and modern languages courses. They’ll be able to answer your questions about university and campus life, and talk about their own experiences.

AVDs usually last around half a day. This means that you’ll have time to travel into Bath and experience the city. Bath is a student-friendly place with lots of picturesque outside spaces and shops, restaurants and bars.
