Gender, Politics and Society Research Group

Our research explores the role of gender in politics and society.

What is the Gender, Politics and Society Research Group?

While gender equality has increased during the last few decades in most countries around the world, women are still underrepresented in major public roles and more likely to face gender discrimination in society. At the same time, we observe a global backlash against gender and LGBTQ+ equality.

Bringing together scholars from different disciplines across the University of Bath, our research focuses on topics like:

  • political representation
  • the workplace
  • activism
  • reproductive rights
