Is what we see every day actually real? Or are our brains tricking us? In this taster lecture, Dr Richard Joiner will explore the topic of illusions (both perceptual and psychological) and how they impact our daily lives.

In 'Perceptual and psychological illusions: implications for everyday life', he looks at the 'white and gold or black and blue?' dress question that took social media by storm a few years ago; how things like the time of year can influence how we see pictures; and other fascinating examples of how we perceive the world around us.

This taster lecture is designed to help you experience what it’s like to study BSc (Hons) Psychology with us.
