Each year we ask all our students to complete student surveys to find out about your experience of studying at Bath. This is your opportunity to provide feedback about what you like and what you think we could improve. Your feedback helps us to continually develop and enhance our learning and teaching, our student services, and our campus facilities.

By giving us your opinions, you could win a prize. Prizes vary depending on the survey. Previous prizes have included: £250 cash, luxury afternoon tea at the Pump Rooms and a Thermae Bath Spa package. Find out more about the prizes, terms and conditions.

Institutional student survey open and close dates for the 2025/26 academic year are:

• National Student Survey (NSS) = Monday 2 February until Thursday 30 April
• Course-level Survey = Monday 2 March until Monday 30 March
• Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) = Monday 2 March until Thursday 30 April
• Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) = Held every two years; PRS will not run this year and will return in Spring 2027.

The NSS gives you the opportunity to voice your experience of your entire undergraduate course at Bath - both what you liked and what you think could be improved. Your feedback will be used to help shape the future for your fellow students. It is an influential, widely recognised and authoritative national survey that gives students a powerful collective voice.

NSS 2026 is open at Bath from Monday 2 February until Thursday 30 April.

The Course-level Survey gives you the opportunity to provide feedback about your undergraduate experience so far, including your opinions about interacting with others, critical thinking, reflecting on and connecting content and assessment and feedback.

The Course-level Survey 2026 is open from Monday 2 March until Monday 30 March.

PTES gives you the opportunity to provide feedback about your experience as a taught postgraduate student so far here at Bath, including your opinions about teaching and learning, engagement, skills development and assessment and feedback.

If you are in your taught phase of a professional doctorate programme, you are eligible for PTES. This replaces the Professional Doctorate Experience Survey (PDES).

PTES 2026 is open from Monday 2 March until Thursday 30 April.

PRES gives you the opportunity to provide feedback about your experience as a doctoral student here at Bath, including your opinions about supervision, support, skills development and resources.

If you are in your research phase of a professional doctorate programme, you are eligible for PRES. This replaces the PDES.

The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) is held every other year. It is not running this year, and will instead return in Spring 2027.
