Foundation years or programmes are courses designed to support students who are not yet suitably prepared for direct entry to university study.

If you have completed your secondary education in your own country and are unable to be considered for our undergraduate courses, you may want to consider a foundation pathway.

We do consider students who have studied suitable courses elsewhere, including through our partners. Our MPharm Pharmacy with Preparatory Year course is not available to international students.

Our pathway programmes are delivered by our trusted partner, Study Group.

The International Foundation Year is an intensive 2-semester programme designed specifically to prepare you for undergraduate study at the University of Bath. It includes English language tuition, study skills and an introduction to your degree programme.

The International Study Centre is located in the heart of our campus. This means you'll have access to all the campus facilities, including teaching facilities, learning spaces, Sports Training Village, 24/7 library, restaurants, shops, cafes, and more.

You’ll learn alongside other international students on programmes developed with the University of Bath. With personalised support, expert teaching and a learning environment designed for international students, you’ll build the academic foundation, independence and confidence you need to thrive at a top UK university.
