Physics Education Group
We are a group of Teaching Fellows, Academic Staff, and Technicians involved in Physics teaching activities and who have an interest in pedogogic research.
Who Are We?
The Physics Education Group (PEG) is an integral part of the Department of Physics at the University of Bath. The group is composed of Teaching Fellows, Academic Staff, and Technicians who come from a wide range of research backgrounds. Group members are involved in teaching activities, interested in pedogogic research, and strive to support all staff by developing and investigating best teaching practices.
Meet the Group Members
Our Aims
The aims of the group are:
- To advocate for and support academic members of staff on teaching-only contracts.
- To support new members of staff with developing their teaching practice and integrating into the teaching practices of the department.
- To explore and promote new teaching tools, methods, and technologies for better learning and engagement in Physics, and keep up to date on current research on the same topics.
- To organise and provide activities within the department that build an inclusive and supportive learning and teaching environment for both students and staff.
- To liaise with other teaching groups and centres of excellence for teaching in the wider Faculty/University.
- To promote and facilitate physics education research carried out by its members and others in the department.
Physics Café
The Physics Café runs every Wednesday during semester time from 12:15 - 14:05. Come join us in Physics Square, located in 8 West Level 1. All staff and students are welcome!
