Why distance learning?

Both the MSc Sport and Exercise Medicine and the MSc Sports Physiotherapy degree courses are delivered via part-time distance learning. We are one of just a few universities offering this type of course which provides the convenience of being able to complete your studies while remaining in clinical practice.

In addition to online content which will be accessible on a flexible basis, you will take part in residential teaching weeks to support your practical and clinical examination training.

Join a research-led department

Our Department for Health undertakes a wide variety of research, the impact of which ranges from influencing international policy and practice, through to generating millions of pounds of cost-savings for governments.

We are focussed on issues happening right now. During the Covid-19 pandemic, researchers within the department have been busy exploring how restrictions have impacted our lifestyles. Read perspectives on the Covid-19 pandemic from our academics across the university.

As a student of the department, you will have access to research generated by several research centres and groups, including our world-leading Centre for Pain Research (CPR).
