Services and facilities

Our services and facilities support staff, students and visitors to the University.

Library

The Library is open 24 hours a day to staff and students. It provides study space and resources for learning, teaching and research.

Food and Drink

The restaurants, bars, cafes and shops on campus open to staff, students and members of the public.

Sports Training Village

Open all week to staff, students and public, the STV is a renowned £30m sport and fitness centre with gym, sports, coaching, physiotherapy and sport science services.

Students' union

The SU (students' union) building houses the SU and their offices, the Student Centre, food outlets and the campus pub and nightclub. SU student development and jobs services are available in the Virgil Building in the city centre.

Westwood Nursery

48 place daycare nursery for children, aged between 6 months and school age, for students, staff and the local community. Holding an Ofsted status of 'Outstanding Provision'.

Dental Centre

The dentist offers NHS and private dental treatment to staff, students and their dependents.

Medical Centre

The doctor's surgery offers NHS treatment to staff and students, including medical appointments, prescriptions, advice on sexual health and vaccinations

Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy is both a place and a team, who are available to help people of all faiths and no faith.

Learning Commons

There are many places on campus and in the city where undergraduate and postgraduate students can study, either alone or in groups.
