Becoming a school governor is an opportunity to use and develop your skills for the benefit of communities and young people. The University is keen to support those considering taking on this amazing volunteer role. This information session will cover:

• What is school governance?

• Benefits of volunteering as a school governor

• How to sign up and find a role

• Q&A with colleagues who are currently serving as school governors

We will be joined by speakers from Inspiring Governance, a Department for Education funded initiative run by the Education and Employers charity with the aim of connecting skilled volunteers with schools recruiting for governors. They can help to match you to the right school if you decide to become a governor.

This session will be delivered online via Teams. The session will be recorded - if you are unable to attend, please register to have access to the recording after the session.
