What are these pages all about?

Everyone's experiences are shaped by their cultures and backgrounds. As individuals, we are multifaceted. Some aspects of our identity can be best understood by those who can relate. The University of Bath has a vibrant community, of students from a diverse range of backgrounds, and we're keen to celebrate this.

The content on these pages has been created by current Bath students, for potential students. We have collated stories, experiences and information from across the University and brought it together here to make our voices heard, connect with others, and create community.

Sherifat's story

2021 Economics graduate and Gold Scholar, Sherifat, made this short film back in 2018. She spoke about how, as a young carer from a single-parent family, the Scholarship offered her a new sense of independence, a space of her own for the first time and freedom from financial pressures.

Now an International Development with Economics Masters student at Bath and having completed a successful placement at the Home Office, she says 'I’m hoping to work abroad for a few years, and at some point, I’d like to work for a big international body like the UN or the World Bank.'
