National Emergency Briefing on climate and nature film screening

Join us for a screening of the new National Emergency Briefing film on the climate and nature crisis, followed by a facilitated discussion.

  • 15 Jul 2026, 6.30pm to 8.30pm BST (GMT +01:00)
  • Room 3.22, 8 West, University of Bath
  • This event is free

During this event, you’ll be able to watch the National Emergency Briefing’s latest film on the climate and nature crisis and its impacts across the UK. This will be followed by a facilitated discussion to help you process and engage positively with solutions in your local community.

In November 2025, leading experts came together in Westminster to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis, highlighting urgent risks to food systems, public health, and national security alongside practical solutions.

This film brings that evidence together in an accessible, compelling format designed to inform, engage, and inspire action at a local level.

It is part of a growing national effort to share this critical briefing beyond Westminster, into communities, universities, and public spaces across the UK.

This event and discussion are being organised collaboratively by Bath’s Centre for 21st Century Public Health, Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST), Sustainability Team, and Institute for Sustainability and Climate Change.

’The People's Emergency Briefing’ film

This film, ‘The People's Emergency Briefing’, sets out the risks facing the nation — and the credible, positive responses available — in a clear and accessible manner. The film features Chris Packham, leading scientists, a former general, Deborah Meaden, Jennifer Saunders, and many other prominent figures.

Post-film discussion

A discussion following the film will be hosted by National Emergency Briefing Film Advisor, Professor Lorraine Whitmarsh (Director of CAST). This will provide an invaluable opportunity to hear directly about how this project was developed, as well as the chance to explore the contents of the film and possible actions that can be undertaken at a local level.
