Learn and develop beyond the classroom

Many of our students do a professional placement, spend time studying abroad, or combine the two, during their degree. Undergraduate languages students spend Year 3 working or studying overseas in countries that primarily use their chosen languages.

Professional placements

The vast majority of our courses offer a professional placement in Year 3. This is your chance to put your degree into practice and gain vital experience. Placements can be in the UK or overseas, and some are paid.

Study abroad

Some of our courses give you the option to study at one of our partner universities. You'll do this in Year 3 for one or two semesters and get valuable international experience.
