MSc Applied Psychology (Conversion)

Gain the core skills and knowledge needed to progress to a range of psychology-based master’s degrees, regardless of your undergraduate background.

Whether you’re looking to specialise in areas like clinical, forensic or behavioural psychology, you’ll need to start your journey with a deep understanding of the subject and core skills in research.

MSc Applied Psychology and Economic Behaviour

Gain an advanced understanding of human decision-making. Develop the skills to ethically analyse, predict and shape human behaviour in real-world contexts.

This course is for you if you have an undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject such as psychology or economics, another social science or business-related discipline.

MSc Psychology, Community Health and Wellbeing

Apply psychological knowledge and social insight to facilitate meaningful improvements in health and wellbeing. You’ll look beyond the individual level, to focus on how social, cultural, economic and environmental factors shape outcomes and combine to affect people’s quality of life.

You can join this course with any humanities or social sciences background.

MSc Health Psychology

If you already have an undergraduate psychology degree, you can immerse yourself in the exciting field of health psychology on this BPS-accredited course.

You’ll mix theoretical learning with a 16-week work placement, gaining contemporary and relevant knowledge that you can use in a range of careers in health-related research, public health and healthcare.

All our master's courses aim to prepare you for the real world by including practical experience - be it a placement, an applied dissertation, or a consultancy project with an external partner.

Join a research-led department


Bath is ranked joint 57th in the world for Psychology in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026.

Our department has a strong research culture, with many articles written by academics being published in general interest or top field journals in psychology.

On joining the department, students will benefit from research conducted by our research groups. Our centres and institutes engage in theoretically informed applied research that spans three areas of strength and focus: health and wellbeing, sustainability, and digital.
