Occupations, industries and skills

Education with Psychology is a social science programme that combines education, psychology, politics and sociology. Students develop a thorough understanding of childhood and youth within social and developmental contexts, acquiring skills to positively influence young people's lives. Graduates gain knowledge applicable to complex real-life situations affecting childhood and youth, including education, mental health and family life.

Industries

Career pathways for these graduates are diverse. They work across education, NHS, healthcare and charity sectors as well as in marketing and other business and management roles. Their transferable skills - enhanced analytical abilities, research proficiency, critical thinking and teamwork - prove valuable across public, private and third sectors.

Occupations

Typical roles include teaching and educational support positions at both primary and secondary levels. Graduates also become mental health practitioners and assistant psychologists, for some as careers in their own right, for others as steps towards clinical or educational psychology doctorates. Others pursue other social roles (community assistant and youth worker) and positions in marketing, public relations and sales.
