Bath International Excellence Scholarships
The University of Bath is delighted to offer up to 300 Bath International Excellence Scholarships, which are worth £8,000 per academic year (up to £24,000 over three years) for high achieving students joining an undergraduate degree course in September 2026.
Eligibility criteria
In order to apply for a Bath International Excellence Scholarship, you must:
- be a new first year applicant assessed as an overseas fee paying student
- have an offer for any undergraduate degree at the University of Bath starting in September 2026
This scholarship is not available for our March Architecture degree. It is available for BSc Architecture.
How to apply
Once you hold an offer of a place at the University of Bath, you can apply through the application form available in your Bath Application Tracker.
If your fee status has not been confirmed with your offer, you will need to wait until we have completed our full assessment and confirmed you are an Overseas fee payer before you will be able to apply.
The application form will launch on Thursday 8 January 2026 and remain available until Thursday 25 June 2026.
We will make awards throughout the year, and you will not be disadvantaged if you apply later for a scholarship providing you apply by the closing date.
To make sure you have an outcome when making your firm and insurance choices through UCAS, you will hear from us no later than:
- 30 April 2026 if you apply by 1 April 2026
- 28 May 2026 if you apply by 14 May 2026
- 9 July 2026 if you apply by 25 June 2026
Scholarship award criteria
In your application you will be asked to answer three questions:
- How will the scholarship benefit you and help you to achieve your future ambitions?
- How do your accomplishments and skills make you a good candidate for this scholarship?
- How will you contribute to the Bath community and act as a future ambassador for the University?
Each question has a character limit of 750.
Your applications will be assessed based on your three answers and your overall academic profile (from your UCAS application).
Details of the award
The scholarship offers a £8,000 discount on your tuition-fees for each full-time year of study, up to a maximum of three years (£24,000):
If your course includes a placement or study abroad year you will not receive a discount on tuition fees for that year. For example, for a four-year BSc course including a placement in year 3, you will normally receive the discount for years 1, 2 and 4
If you study full-time for more than three years of your course, you will be eligible for the discount in the first three years of full-time study only
For BSc Architecture and BSc Business which have half-year placements in year 2 and 3, you will receive an £8,000 discount in years 1 and 4 and £4,000 in years 2 and 3 (to the same maximum of £24,000)
The discount applies to the preparatory year (year 0) of our MPharm Pharmacy with preparatory year
The discount will apply to the BSc top-up year of our FdSc Sport (Sports Performance) course if you successfully transfer to it, providing you have not received more than a £16,000 discount during the FdSc course
Scholarships are available as discounts on tuition fees and cannot be substituted for other forms of discounts or cash awards.
The scholarship is available only while you are paying overseas fees. If you become eligible for Home fees your scholarship will stop.
Full terms and conditions will be published before applications open in January.
Deferred entry
If you are holding a deferred offer for September 2026 having applied in a previous year you can apply for one of these scholarships this year. If you are successful and already hold a previous scholarship award it will be replaced by this new award. Any scholarship you have already been awarded will otherwise be unchanged.
If you have an offer to start in September 2027 (or later) you will be eligible to apply in the year you will enter.
If you defer your offer to a later year after receiving a scholarship it will be rescinded but you can apply again for a new scholarship in the year you will enter.
