DBA in Higher Education Management

DBA graduates Gillian Thomson & Dave McHardy with the Vice-Chancellor;
Professor Richard Mawditt; & Director of Studies Professor Jeroen Huisman (Dec 2012)

Professor Ian JamiesonThe higher education environment of the 21st century is changing dramatically and requires managers who can respond creatively to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

The Bath Doctor of Business Administration in Higher Education Management was developed in response to such developments and is the first programme of its kind offered world-wide.

It is distinctive in that it is based in a leading School of Management and combines research excellence with professional practice. It is also distinctive in offering a programme which is truly international in terms of its scope and in relation to student intake.

The programme is part-time modular and structured in 2 Phases. Phase 1 is taught by leading scholars from the School of Management and brings together an international cohort of students in short residential periods to share expertise, to network and to provide peer support. In Phase 2, participants work on their doctoral thesis with research supervisors.

Taken together, our students represent the largest international group of leading research managers in the higher education field. They will go on to produce some of the most significant and influential research in this area and will contribute to advanced management practice.

If you would like to join our prestigious group of higher education managers, I encourage you to contact the DBA(HEM) administrators. They can also put you in touch with me if you wish to discuss the suitability of your application prior to embarking on the formal process.

I hope that you find our website informative.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Professor Ian Jamieson

(Acting) Director of Studies
