Winter at the University of Bath
If you're a student staying in Bath over the winter break, come and spread some joy and take part in our festive activities.
We have a series of festive activities taking place on campus, all are free and you can attend as many as you like. All students are welcome, whether you are living on or off campus, but make sure you book onto each of your chosen activities as places are limited.
There are also a number of other events taking place, either virtually or in and around the Bath and Bristol area. Take a look at Visit Bath's What's On Guide and Visit Bristol's What's On Guide to see what's happening this winter.
All students living in the City will have access to the campus via the normal bus facility with First Buses in order to take part in our activities. Further information on bus and train travel, and taxis, is on our winter transport page.
Supermarkets in Bath
Find out more about which supermarkets will be open in Bath over the Christmas period, on our Supermarkets page.
Food outlets opening times
Check the opening times for all the food and drink outlets and shops on campus; this page is updated each week.
Most University staff will be on holiday from the end of Thursday 23 December, returning on Tuesday 4 January, so offices on campus and in University buildings will be closed. Our Security Team will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the period as normal.
The Team Bath Sports Pass can be used during the winter break; if you haven’t already activated your free sports pass then please do so by visiting STV reception. You can book courts to play sport with friends or Swim in the SwimFit lanes. The Sports Training Village has reduced holiday opening hours over the winter break. You will be required to wear a face covering within the building unless you are exempt or when exercising.
Read about the support we offer to self-isolating students.
There is also extra information if you're self-isolating in University accommodation.
This will be a great opportunity to spend time with others, meet new people and be part of a community of students on campus who are also staying in the city. Bedding and towels will be provided.
Please note that hospitality outlets on campus, including Fresh, will be closed during this time. Our Security Team will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the period as normal, and will be on hand to support you.
If you would like to join us on campus during this time, please read and complete this form by Sunday 5 December. If you would like to move with friends, please include this in the form.
Rooms are subject to availability and at no additional cost. We will confirm whether you have been allocated a room by Monday 6 December 2021. If you are allocated a room, you must collect your key on Thursday 23 December from the West Accommodation Centre and return the key on or before Tuesday 4 January 2022. If you are currently living in University accommodation your normal rental for the period will still apply.
