10.15am 12.05pm Chancellor's Building 3.5 Welcome session and introductory talk for all students on the MA Interpreting and Translating (MAIT), MA Translation and Professional Language Skills and MA Translation with Business Interpreting (TBI) with the Director of Studies, followed by a short introduction to the library.

Wednesday 29 September

11.15am 1.05pm Chancellor's Building 3.1 Introductory talk for all students on the MA Interpreting and Translation (Chinese) & MA Translation with Business Interpreting
2pm 3.15pm Meeting point outside the Library by steps Guided Department tour by undergraduate students. Groups and times TBC. Students will first visit the Language Labs and TV Studio

Thursday 30 September

12.15pm 1.15pm 1 West 2.104 Introduction to translation (MAIT Chinese stream & TBI)
3.15pm 4.15pm TBC Meet your Personal Tutor - You will be sent an email telling where you will meet your personal tutor
4.15pm 6.05pm Meeting point near the benches by the lake, at the bottom of the steps The reception has been cancelled for safety reasons. However, if the weather permits, there will be an informal gathering near the lake, to allow you to meet some of your teachers and peers. An email will be sent on the day to say whether the gathering will go ahead. For all students and staff on the MA Interpreting and Translating, MA Translation and Professional Language Skills and MA Translation with Business Interpreting programmes

Friday 1 October

2.15pm 3.05pm MS Teams Be the Change: explores harassment from accessing support to reporting incidents
3.15pm 4.05pm Zoom A class on 'Searching for Literature in the Library', to be held on Zoom. You will be sent the link to join via email

As well as these compulsory events, you can also get involved in optional activities run by The SU.
