Getting help with research integrity and ethics queries

Find out who to contact if you have a question about our research integrity and ethics.

Senior management

Professor Julie Barnett, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research), is the senior manager responsible for research integrity and governance.

Departmental Research Ethics Officers

If you're a researcher at Bath, your Departmental Research Ethics Officer (DREO) is your first point of contact if you have any queries relating to research ethics.

Chairs of Research Ethics Committees

If you need advice for more complex ethical and research integrity issues, you should contact the Chair of the relevant Research Ethics Committee of the University. They may be able to help especially in cases where the DREOs have been unable to provide sufficient guidance.

Your first point of contact is the Chair of the Research Committee closest to your own research area but you can also contact other Chairs if your primary contact is not available.

The Academic Ethics and Integrity Committee can make up a panel to consider complex ethical problems if this becomes necessary. If you need more information about this, contact the Secretary of the Committee.

For more information about these Committees, including 'how to' guides, templates and FAQs please consult the wiki pages for PREC, REACH and SSREC.

Research Governance Coordinators

If you need advice regarding Sponsorship and working with the NHS please contact your Faculty’s Research Governance Coordinator.
