University Mental Health Day is a national campaign to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing in our community.

The University continues to support the mental health of our community. Here is a selection of the many initiatives to support students:

  • support groups including the Bereavement Social Group to support those that have experienced a recent or historical loss, the Social Networking Group to support those feeling lonely or isolated to meet others in a safe space and the LGBTQ+ Support & Socialise group to support students who want a safe space to meet and feel more confident and comfortable with their LGBTQ+ identity and for students who are questioning or exploring their identity
  • Our Be Well app supports student mental health and helps to build healthy habits
  • MENtion it our male mental health campaign and Talk Club our peer led listening group for men
  • the expansion of our Social prescribing offer, which includes get active, green minds, yoga and art for wellbeing
  • a partnership with Nilaari to offer culturally sensitive counselling
  • Be Well - Talk Now offering 24 hour support via phone or live chat. Counselling in different languages is also available
  • Be Well Week starting 11 March which is full of activities and workshops to support student wellbeing
  • Cost of Living Support to recognise the impact the cost of living crisis is having on mental health
  • The SU continue to offer an array of student groups supporting students to connect with others
  • The SU Peer mentoring programme supporting students through their university journey
