During Welcome Week 2026 you must attend department and central Welcome Week events which will help you settle into University life.

This is Welcome Week timetable for BSc Economics courses (BSc Economics, BSc Economics with Politics and BSc Economics with Mathematics) students.

Arrivals Weekend is from Friday 18 September to Sunday 20 September 2026.

Welcome Week runs from Monday 21 September to Friday 25 September 2026.

You must attend a University Life session taking place over arrivals weekend. Find your University Life time slot. It’s important that you attend this.

Thursday 24 September

11.00am 12.00pm The Parade The SU Groups Fair: Use this free time to meet over 100 Student Groups including societies, volunteering, media, and diversity and support groups. This is an optional activity.
12.15pm 2.05pm 2 West University Hall Group session (Surnames A-M): Meet the Librarians, Talks from Placements, Study Abroad and Careers.

Friday 25 September

10.00am 4.00pm Founders' Hall The SU Freshers Fair: The one with all the freebies! Use this free time to explore what's on offer at The SU, the University, locally in Bath as well as connect with national brands. This is an optional activity.

Please check this page regularly as sometimes we need to change the times and locations of Welcome events. During Welcome, we would recommend you check your timetable at the start of each day.

Occasionally, there may be a scheduling clash between your departmental activities and The SU events during Freshers' Week. However, many SU events are repeated or run over several days, giving you the flexibility to attend at a different time.

The Students' Union also runs optional Freshers' Week activities you might be interested in.

If you have any problems with IT hardware and software, contact our IT helpdesk. You can also purchase equipment from them.
