About the University of Bath MPharm at Plymouth

Our well regarded Bath MPharm course will be starting at the University of Plymouth in September 2024. Lyn Hanning, Director of Practice Based Learning, talks about the new location and the course content.

Live and work in Britain's Ocean City

From the historic, cobblestone waterfront to the city’s thriving bars, cafés and shops, Plymouth caters to everyone. The vibrant campus is at the heart of the city, just a mile from the seafront.

You’ll be teaching in brand-new, purpose-built pharmacy facilities, as well as laboratory and general teaching space across campus and working alongside staff teaching over 4,500 health and social care students in the Faculty of Health.

The new pharmacy facilities are currently in construction on the ground floor of the Nancy Astor Building and will be open ahead of the course starting in September 2024. They'll include practice-based and clinical teaching spaces, such as consultation rooms and simulation equipment.

Teach on a highly-ranked course

Our MPharm Pharmacy course is currently ranked Top 5 in the Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.

Students on our four-year MPharm at Plymouth will study the same course content as students at Bath, gaining a unique knowledge of the scientific development and clinical use of medicines, and preparing them for a career as a pharmacist or in pharmaceutical research. Teaching will combine classroom and lab-based learning, campus based simulations and placements in real healthcare settings across the South West.

This MPharm in a new location provides the opportunity to live and work in the vibrant and unique surroundings of Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, home to over 4,500 health and social care students.
