How the funding is allocated

The Oversight Committee in each faculty is responsible for allocating funding.

Within the faculties, the EPSRC DTP Oversight Committee allocates the EPSRC DTP on an annual basis. They are responsible for enacting and recording progress against the overall DTP strategy.

The EPSRC DTP Oversight Committees are chaired by each Dean, although this responsibility can be delegated to the Associate Dean for Research. The Oversight Committees contain members from across the faculty, including the Faculty Directors of Doctoral Study, as well as members from the Doctoral College who are responsible for servicing the committees and making sure the allocation processes are consistent.

Selection of projects

Academics can apply to the EPSRC DTP Oversight Committees for their project to be funded using EPSRC DTP funds.

The application process for academic staff is publicised each year on the staff wikis and the EPSRC DTP web page. It will also be discussed at faculty and department meetings. The Doctoral College and faculty leads will also email academics within their departments to explain how they can apply for EPSRC DTP funding.

The University of Bath’s EPSRC DTP studentships are advertised and promoted on FindaPhd.

If you are a member of staff, you can contact your relevant Associate Dean (Research) for more information about applying for EPSRC DTP funding for projects.
