Living in University accommodation

Become part of our student community; we're here to help you feel at home.

As we adapt our service in line with the latest government guidance on COVID-19, this information is subject to change.

Our postgraduate accommodation is located around the centre of Bath, where there are regular buses that run to the University campus.

Our accommodation is specially designed with students in mind. You can pick somewhere to suit your budget and your lifestyle.

Living in University accommodation means you'll also receive our postgraduate accommodation package, put together to help you settle in and feel at home.

If you have a disability or medical condition, let us know and we'll consider your needs when we look at accommodation applications.

Choosing your accommodation options

Information about the differences between each accommodation type, to help you to make your selection.

Choosing University accommodation gives you more than just a room. It's our goal to make student accommodation feel like home, by creating a sense of community within our accommodation. This can help you to create lifelong memories, and lasting relationships with your housemates.

Your options

The options available to you will vary based on your course and level of study.

We’ll do our best to place you in your preferred room type, but we cannot guarantee this.

If you are an eligible overseas postgraduate student and apply by the 16 June 2022 deadline, you are guaranteed accommodation.

If you are a postgraduate from the UK we cannot guarantee you accommodation, but you can apply to go on our waiting list.

You will need to select eight room type preferences on your application.

If you have a disability or medical condition

Make sure you tell us so that we can consider your needs when looking at accommodation applications.

Additional requirements

When doing your application, you can request to live in mixed or single-sex accommodation.

We are committed to providing a safe and happy environment for students to live in, whatever their choice of accommodation. We value diversity and inclusivity, and want everyone to be treated with respect.

For example, we can help you if you:

  • are trans and/or gender diverse; we may be able to place you in an en-suite bedroom or a studio
  • are non-binary or intersex; we can look at allocating you to a mixed-gender flat
