The British Council’s Newton PhD programme aims to develop science and innovation partnerships that promote the economic development and welfare of its 18 collaborating countries.

PhD Scholarships provide funding for individual partner country students to undertake full PhD studies in the UK, or the other way around.

PhD placements provide funding for individual partner country PhD students to spend a period of their study (up to one year) in the UK, or the other way around.
