More than a room

Living in University accommodation gives you more than a room - it can create a sense of community, lifelong memories and lasting relationships.

Welcome home

At University of Bath, it's our goal to make student accommodation feel like a home.

In addition to the practical elements of each accommodation option, it's useful to learn more about what it's like to live here.

We want to offer choice, so that everyone can find the ideal home here at Bath. By giving you a range of accommodation options, including shared houses, en-suite rooms, budget options and quiet rooms, we can create a community that celebrates individuality.

Supporting you every step of the way

We're here to make sure you settle in to University life as quickly and easily as possible.

Out Student Living Ambassadors are here to welcome you into your new home, and to support overall wellbeing and healthy living within University accommodation.

As well as running social activities and making sure you're aware of all the latest news and events, the Student Living Ambassadors are friendly faces to help out with any queries or concerns you may have. You can contact the Student Living Welfare and Support Team at any time on livingsupport@bath.ac.uk for help with things like flatmate disagreements, cleaning, noise or anti-social behaviour in your accommodation, welfare support, moving to non-University accommodation and general life in halls.

We've recently introduced a Shared Living Agreement to our University accommodation. The Shared Living Agreement is a set of rules created together by each flat or house, and gives your accommodation group the chance to agree how you'd like to get the most out of living with each other.

The Shared Living Agreement includes preferences on how you are going to use the shared spaces and keep your accommodation clean and tidy, as well as general rules for living together and how you will resolve any conflict.

It's helpful to have these conversations early, as it can be a great opportunity to get to know each other better and to discuss your expectations. Coming to an agreement may mean making compromises, so make sure you are ready to make some allowances. Most of all, it's important that everyone is comfortable and happy living here.

As part of your Shared Living Agreement you will have less house inspections, offering you more independence. Our Student Accommodation team can support you with the whole process.

Settling in

Make the most of your time here with our Meet & Greet talks.

When you move into University accommodation, you'll be invited to a series of compulsory Meet & Greet talks, to give you all the information you need for living in your accommodation. The Meet & Greet talks will take place during Freshers' Week - exact details will be emailed to you and displayed on your kitchen noticeboard.

The talks will cover important topics like cleaning, recycling, reporting maintenance issues, using the post system, rules and regulations, health and safety, and welfare support. This is also a good opportunity to ask any questions you may about life in accommodation, and living at University.
