We often think of change as a top-down process, driven by leaders and strategic planning processes. But change efforts are often driven by, and depend on, bottom-up processes.
This is especially the case for social change issues – or issues where dedicated individuals and groups of employees want to see their employer change their practices and priorities to better align with societal concerns around issues such as climate change, inequality, or human rights.
In this talk, Dr Grace Augustine will share the latest research on how these bottom-up efforts can succeed or become stalled, also drawing on her own research on sustainability efforts in higher education institutions.
