Welcome from the Chairs

We are delighted to welcome you to the PRME Chapter UK & Ireland Conference 2026, which will take place at the University of Bath School of Management.

It is an honour to host such a vibrant community of educators, researchers, practitioners and students who are committed to advancing responsible management education.

In a world marked by geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty, technological disruption, and climate change, responsible management education is more crucial than ever.

Our conference theme, 'Responsibly Navigating the Turbulent Business World', will bring together educators, researchers, practitioners and policymakers to explore how business schools and organisations can lead with integrity and purpose.

Through papers, panels, workshops and networking events, the conference will share insights and innovations for creating positive social and environmental impact.

We have been carefully designing a programme that reflects the richness and diversity of the PRME community, bringing together teaching, research, practice and partnership in creative and meaningful ways. Expect thought-provoking discussions, practical insights, and opportunities to connect with others who are shaping the future of responsible management.

We look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful city of Bath and to sharing a conference experience that is engaging, reflective and full of collaboration.

Conference theme

60th Anniversary logo for the University of Bath
This conference is part of the University’s 60th Anniversary celebrations and timeline.

In an era marked by geopolitical tensions, armed conflict, economic volatility, technological disruption, and climate change, responsible management education, research, and practice have become ever more critical.

Businesses today face unprecedented complexities, from supply chain fragility and shifting regulatory landscapes to extreme weather events and ethical dilemmas in AI adoption. Responsible management is no longer an option but a necessity for respecting planetary boundaries, addressing uncertainty and inequality, and progressing towards long-term value creation for all.

While the turbulent business environment of today has made responsible management more important than ever, it has also raised fundamental challenges. These include new threats to democracy and freedom of speech, reversals in protections for human rights and diversity, and de-escalation of climate and other environmental commitments. As a result, the path towards meeting the sustainable development goals (SDGs) is not only strewn with a growing number of obstacles but is even questioned as a legitimate direction of travel in itself.

In this context, the 2026 Annual Conference of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) UK and Ireland Chapter could not be timelier and more necessary. The goal of the conference is to discuss and evaluate the current state of responsible management education, research, practice and partnership and to chart a way forward.

In exploring this theme, the conference provides a platform for researchers, teachers, practitioners and policy makers to share strategies, insights, and innovations that will enable businesses, business schools, and their stakeholders to navigate global turbulence to uphold responsible business practice and make a positive social and environmental impact.

The conference will include papers, workshops, panels, keynote speakers, and a host of networking opportunities and social events.

Keynote speakers

Krish Kandiah

Dr. Krish Kandiah OBE is a social entrepreneur, author, and highly sought-after international speaker working at the intersection of leadership, ethics, and social impact. In recognition of his work, Krish was awarded an OBE for services to refugee resettlement by King Charles III. His professional expertise is deeply rooted in his personal life; he and his wife are parents to six children through birth, adoption, and fostering.

With a background in theology and public leadership, Krish is a regular contributor to national media, including BBC Radio 4. City of Bath and the University

The city of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, architectural splendour and historical significance. Famous for its Roman Baths and elegant Georgian architecture, the city has long been a centre of learning, creativity and innovation.

Bath’s compact size, vibrant arts scene and literary legacy – associated with figures such as Jane Austen – make it a place where culture, history and contemporary life intersect seamlessly. Beyond its heritage, Bath is also a forward-looking city, known for its commitment to sustainability, design and innovation, offering an inspiring environment for dialogue, reflection and collaboration.

This blend of history and innovation mirrors the conference theme of responsibly navigating a turbulent business world by reminding us that resilience and reinvention are rooted in a deep sense of place and purpose.

The University of Bath School of Management is one of the UK’s leading business schools with an international impact. Our research and teaching are rooted in addressing global challenges while remaining deeply connected to our local community and heritage. Together they directly address the challenges facing organisations today. From rethinking business models for environmental and social sustainability to exploring ethical implications of technology and globalisation, our work equips future leaders to manage complexity with responsibility and integrity.

The School’s partnerships with local and international businesses, social enterprises and policy institutions provide a living laboratory for understanding how organisations can thrive while contributing positively to society. We work closely with government, policymakers, civil society and industry leaders to generate impactful research that drives positive change and informs responsible business practice.

The University is located on the Claverton Down campus, just one mile from the historic city centre.

Delegates will enjoy a welcoming and sustainable conference experience supported by the University’s Hospitality Team, offering vegan and halal catering options while minimising environmental impact.

The compact, walkable city, excellent public transport and scenic countryside surroundings make Bath not only accessible but also an inspiring setting for dialogue, collaboration and reflection on the future of responsible management education.
