Work with our undergraduate students on a business project
By sponsoring a Final Year Project, your company can work with high-quality BSc Business students to examine your business issue.
What can School of Management undergraduate students offer you?
Sponsoring a project offers you:
- quality research at little or no financial cost
- fresh perspectives on a business issue from a diverse group of students
- credible results and recommendations of practical value
- the chance to raise your organisation’s profile among graduates and in the community
Working in teams of five, over an 11-week period, students conduct research into real-life business issues. They manage the project themselves and provide a detailed report and presentation. They're supported throughout by an Academic Project Lead, Academic Advisor and Project Officer.
Proposing a project
When you’ve identified a business issue, we ask you to submit an initial project brief using an online form. We will check the brief for academic and practical suitability.

Throughout the project, you will need to:
- join your team for a one hour online launch meeting in February to introduce yourselves and expand on your project brief
- maintain regular contact with your project team and arrange cover if you become unavailable
- listen to the students’ presentation at the end of the project in April
- pay for any travel or project expenses
- cooperate with reasonable information requests
Examples of project topics
Recent project topics have included:
- the impact of AI on business
- enhancing customer experience
- research into new markets
- assessing the impact of new legislation
