Calm arrivals

Learn about calm arrivals to the University of Bath.

What are calm arrivals?

Calm Arrivals is an optional early move-in opportunity for students who would benefit from a quieter, more relaxed arrival experience.

Arriving before the main arrivals weekend means fewer students on campus, giving you time to settle into your accommodation at your own pace and become familiar with your surroundings.

Calm Arrivals give you the opportunity to:

  • Move in ahead of the main arrivals weekend
  • Settle into your room and explore campus
  • Adjust to university life in a calmer environment
  • Meet other early-arriving students through supported activities

This option can be particularly helpful if the main arrivals weekend feels overwhelming for you and or would like additional time to settle in.

How it works

Eligibility

Calm arrivals are available to undergraduate students who have been allocated quiet accommodation.

If you are a new student with a declared disability, you can discuss whether Calm Arrivals may be beneficial for you during your pre-entry appointment with a member of the Disability Advice team. While the scheme is primarily intended for students allocated quiet accommodation, ResLife will consider requests from other students on a case-by-case basis. Please note that, due to accommodation locations and operational considerations, it may not always be possible to accommodate these requests

Arrival date

Early move-in is scheduled for Thursday 17 September.

Contact timeline

Invitations and further details will be shared in early September (date to be confirmed).
