ResLife Support

There is plenty of support to make your life in University accommodation as comfortable as possible, and help you to make the most of your time at Bath.

Residence Life

Starting life at University can come with new challenges. That's why we’re here to help.

We run a residence life programme to support your transition into University halls, develop a sense of community and help you get the best student experience from your time living with us. Our remit includes social events and activities, welcome into halls, life skills, peer to peer roles (ResLife Ambassadors), student support and engagement.

Settling into your new home and building relationships are common situations that everyone faces when moving into University accommodation.

Your ResLife Ambassadors are current students who previously lived in halls and will regularly check in with you and your flatmates. However, you can always schedule a meeting with the team at any time by contacting reslife@bath.ac.uk.

Programme of activities

Keep an eye on our activity calendar. This is a great way to meet other students and explore your new home city of Bath. All sessions are open to all residents of University halls. If you have any ideas for activities you would like, please email us and let us know at reslife@bath.ac.uk.

"Thank you so much for organising Book Club. I was delighted to be able to discuss books online with a group during this time and share different cultures all over the world!!!" - Yixu Ding

How we can support you

Our ResLife Ambassadors are here to make sure you feel at home in your accommodation - whether you have a question about meeting people, keeping healthy or balancing your studies and personal life, the ResLife Ambassadors are on hand to help.

We aim to be an inclusive university, where difference is celebrated, respected and encouraged. As an institution we’re committed to a set of Equality Objectives and an Athena Swan Charter action plan for introducing cultural changes that create a better environment for all members of our community.

We understand the importance of speaking with someone who shares your (or similar) background and introduced Champions for race equality and LGBTQ+ to make sure that students of diverse ethnic backgrounds and identities find our residencies a supportive and welcoming place.

“The ResLife Support Team have been fantastic in supporting me over my period of self-isolation and beyond.

Regular calls and check-ins from the friendly team really helped boost morale over this otherwise tough period, and made for a pleasant surprise on multiple occasions. The staff have been great in offering invaluable advice on all manner of topics, spanning from next year’s accommodation arrangements, to ways to stay active over lockdown – as well as lending a much appreciated listening ear!”
