About our division


The division supports innovative, evidence-based teaching, professional development, academic community building, and educational research with:

  • monthly SHARE meetings to share examples of teaching excellence, scholarship of teaching and learning, experiences of educational research and professional development.
  • bi-annual COLLABORATE think tank to establish collaborations to tackle key institutional priorities within education.
  • regular informal drop-ins.
  • writing retreats

Current areas of interest within the Division include:

  • experiential learning within pharmacy teaching
  • the use of ePortfolios to evidence employability skills development and professional competency
  • the development and evaluation of active and applied learning resources
  • developing inclusive and accessible learning resources
  • developing teaching materials to promote diversity
  • statistics teaching for Life Scientists
  • closing the attainment gap for international pharmacy students

About us

The Life Science Education Division promotes teaching excellence through SHARE meetings, COLLABORATE think tanks, informal drop-ins and writing retreats. Our interests include experiential pharmacy learning, ePortfolios for employability, active, inclusive and diverse learning resources, statistics education, supporting international pharmacy students, and embedding sustainability in the curriculum.
