Academic Registry will be closed for the winter holiday between 5pm on Tuesday 23 December 2025 and 9am on Friday 2 January 2026.
If you contact us after 12pm on Monday 22 December 2025 you’ll receive an automatic acknowledgement from us, but we may not be able to respond to your enquiry until we return on Friday 2 January 2026.
This will affect you if you contact us to:
- make an enquiry to our email address
- get advice through our timetabling, student records, exams, student data, degree apprenticeships, or graduation services
- request a transcript
- request a letter confirming that you are or were a student
- change your name, gender and pronouns
- verify a student's details, their award or a certificate
- get certificates or copies of certificates
- speak to us through our helpline
If you send us any time-sensitive requests, or try to contact us via our helpline, we won't be able to respond during the closure period, however you will receive a prioritised response once our services have reopened, from 2 January 2025.
Registration and IT support, and Moodle submissions over the closure period
Please note that a large number of University staff will be on holiday from the end of Friday 19 December, returning on Monday 5 January, so you may not be able to get full support for registration or IT queries during this period.
If you have a Moodle submission over the winter holiday, please check you can log on to Moodle now, before the winter holiday begins. If you find you aren't able to log on, or are having difficulties with Multi Factor Authentification (MFA), you will need to register via SAMIS and contact the IT servicedesk as soon as possible.
