All doctoral researchers are invited to sign up to give a short 5 minute presentation as part of the Doctoral Festival of Ideas. As a thank you, we will give you a £30 Amazon voucher for presenting at the Festival.
The Flash Talks will take place on Tuesday 23rd June and will be an opportunity for you to share your research with a wider audience. If you would like to contribute as a presenter, then please read this guidance and submit an expression of interest form.

Format of the talks
The Flash Talks will run between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm on the first day of the festival, across four parallel sessions, with six presentations in each session. Talks will be grouped by discipline area.
Each presentation will last no longer than five minutes, with a short Q&A after every three talks.
Presentations are open to all, so please ensure your talk is accessible and understandable to a general audience.
Taking part
To present a Flash Talk at the Doctoral Festival of Ideas, you must submit a short expression of interest form by 5 pm, Monday 23 March 2026. You will need to provide a title and a brief abstract of your research.
Talks are scheduled to take place in person on Tuesday 23 June 2026, with allocated time for questions. If you are on a professional doctorate programme or based overseas, you are still encouraged to take part as there will be opportunities to present remotely.
