Terms and conditions
The following apply:
- the fund is open to part-time and full-time students, registered on one of the University’s doctoral programmes (PhD or Professional Doctorate)
- applicants must be making good progress with their doctorate
- priority will be given to activities which fill a gap in current provision
- applications will be judged on the following criteria: how realistic is the proposed training; likely demand for the activity across the doctoral student community; and value for money
- applications will be considered by the Doctoral College - decisions are final with no right of appeal
- successful applicant(s) will be expected to carry out the activities outlined in their proposal
- funds can be used to pay for fees for external trainers, reasonable catering costs and materials
- funds cannot be used to pay full-time staff who are employed by the University of Bath
- funds cannot be used to remunerate the student for their time in organising the event
- Successful applicants will normally be informed within two weeks after the submission deadline (if applicants do not hear within two weeks, please contact doctoralengagement@bath.ac.uk
- training activities need to be completed within 4 months of receiving the funding
- successful applicants will be required to submit a short evaluation report within one month of completion of the activity (failure to do so may result in the funds you have received being repaid to the University upon demand)
- submitted reports, photographs and video may be used to publicise the fund and its work.
- you may also be asked to participate in activity promoting the scheme
- retrospective applications made after the activity has commenced will not normally be considered
- candidates must acknowledge Doctoral College funding in any communications about the event
